The Experience

Spending Eid Al Fitr in Oman is a deeply meaningful experience. This journey offers an intimate look into religious traditions, family life, and community celebrations that have remained unchanged for generations.

Guests are welcomed into Mohammed’s family home and surrounding communities to take part in Eid rituals, shared meals, and cultural gatherings. Highlights include attending the annual Eid Camel Show, exploring traditional landmarks, enjoying home-cooked Omani meals, and experiencing a short sunset camel ride in the desert south of Bidiya.

This is a family-style cultural journey, designed for travellers who are curious, respectful, and open to experiencing Eid beyond the surface.

Camels

This trip is not centred around long riding days. It includes a short afternoon camel ride in the dunes to experience a beautiful desert sunset.

Over the years, ADCRC has built a long-standing relationship with Abdullah and his camels, some of which he has worked with for over 20 years. These camels are well-mannered, kind, and confident walkers, accustomed to steep dunes and desert terrain.

Some of the camels are still used in the traditional camel skill presentation known as Ardha.

Omani riding gear is similar to Emirati tack, with camels padded to form a seat behind the saddle. Local riders often ride kneeling or with one leg over, using thinner padding and fabric halters.
